Kunkuma Tharikal

I do not know the right English term for this. Kunkuma Tharikal - specks of kunkum or vermilion- has always fascinated me.
I remember the day, in another life, when she was putting on a kunkum bindi on her forehead, and the specks of kunkum falling and scattering on her nose bridge.

Bright red specks on her fair aquiline nose... She is gone, but the image still remains in my mind, refusing to fade away and become history...
